Who is eligible for cosmetic eyebrow tattoos?

Microblading and Ombre Powder Shading is for women and men who are 18 years and older looking to enhance their brow shape and/or fill in missing sparse areas of their brow.

If you have any of the below contradictions, please consult with your doctor first:

  • Autoimmune Disease

  • Taking Blood Thinning medication

  • Cancer/Chemotherapy

  • Diabetes (Doctor's note required)

  • Directly after a strong chemical peel and /or botox treatments

  • Glaucoma

  • Heart Conditions

  • HIC/Hepatitis

  • Hemophilia

  • Herpes (around procedure area)

  • Using Retin A or Accutane

  • History of Keloid or Hypertrophic scaring

  • Makeup, pigment, and/or topical anesthetic allergies

  • Pregnant or Nursing (no exceptions)

  • Post inflammatory hyperpigmentation that is easily triggered

  • Skin diseases such as psoriasis, shingles, or eczema on the procedure area

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup. Using a handheld tool consisting of 18 micro-blades, small incisions are created to mimic real eyebrow hair strokes. These small hair like incisions sit within the most outer layer of your skin, known as the epidermis. High quality pigment/ink is deposited into the incisions to create natural looking eyebrow hair. It is great for those who have Normal to Dry skin and prefer a natural look. Oily skin may require multiple sessions to achieve desired look.

What is Ombre Powder Shading?

Ombre Powder Shading is another form of semi-permanent makeup. An Ombre Powder Tattoo machine with a single needle is used to implant pigments into the epidermis. This technique gives your brows a 24/7 filled in makeup look without the worry of them smudging off. Ombre Powder Brows are suited for all skin types (Dry/ Normal/Oily) and can be customized to suit your preference, from soft and powdery to sharp and bold.

What is Microshading?

Microshading is a combination of Microblading and Shading. It is usually done two ways; Ombre Powder Shading with some strokes in the front or full Microbladed brows with light manual shading to fill in sparse areas. The amount of shading can be adjusted to suit your desired look. Typically recommended for those who have normal to dry skin and have little to no hair or with extremely sparse areas on brows.

Is Microblading or Ombre Powder Shading permanent?

No. It is semi-permanent, lasting on average 1- 3 years. Pigments are designed to fade over time. Client results will vary from person to person. Retention of the pigment is out of our control, as it is determined by the patient's skin type (oily skin will fade faster), how well they follow after-care procedures, lifestyle, as well as their immune system, therefore no guarantee can be made as to how long results will last. We do recommend that you get your 1st touch up within 4-10 weeks after your initial session to perfect your brows. After that, annual touch up for color boost can be done to keep color looking fresh.

Does Microblading or Ombre Powder Shading hurt?

Pain threshold varies from person to person. However, with the right technique and topical anesthetic, there should be minimal discomfort. Most customers experience minimal pain while others may be slightly uncomfortable. Some compare the sensation to minor paper cuts and eyebrow tweezing. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most painful, majority indicate pain level is about a 3.

Are cosmetic tattoos such as Microblading and Ombre Powder Shading safe?

Yes, if conducted by a trained & permitted professional following proper safety measures. Miroblading and Shading is considered Body Art Tattoo, therefore in addition to being certified in a Microblading/Shading course, your Artist should also be Bloodborne Pathogen Certified (BBP) and have a valid Body Art Practitioner Permit from their respective County's Environmental Health Dept. BBP Certification ensures your Artist have the proper knowledge of how to handle & dispose of bodily fluids, bloodborne diseases, and avoid cross contamination. The County's Environmental Health Department regulates and enforces appropriate safety measures. We use only sterile, single-use tools at the onset of each session, and our treatment area is sanitized prior to and after each session to protect against cross contamination.

What if I have sensitive skin or prone to allergies?

Although allergic reactions to pigments are very rare, we do offer an allergy patch-test prior to procedure, when requested. This must be done at least 24 hours prior to your appointment

What is the healing process?

Day 1: Right after the procedure the pigment will appear very natural looking. Light swelling and redness immediately after the procedure is normal and will subside within 24 hours.

Day 2 - 7: The pigment color will appear darker as brows start to heal and will lightly scab over. Do not pick at the scabs as it will remove the pigments.

Day 8 - 14: Brows should have healed externally and finished peeling, leaving you with a much lighter color.

This is NORMAL, so do not worry.

Day 20 - 30: The implanted pigment will begin to resurface as your brows heal internally. This will bring back more color to your brows allowing us to see the final result of the initial session.

Day 30 - 60: During this time, your follow up session should take place to perfect your brows. Additional touch-up sessions may be required to achieve your desired look.

Please ensure you follow the Post Care Procedure to heal properly and achieve the best results.

Can I bring a friend/guest?

Due to the recent pandemic Covid-19, we ask that you do not bring any guests with you.

Do I need to come in bare faced or with makeup on?

The decision to come in with makeup or a clean bare face, is entirely up to you. We will be taking before/after photos for our records and with your written consent we may use some photos for social media/advertisement. Either way, we will clean off your brow area before your procedure.

Do I need to wax, thread, or clean up my brows before my appointment?

It is not required for you to wax, thread, or shape your brows prior to your appointment. The more hair you have, the better we can see your natural hair flow. After we shape your new brows, we will clean up the eyebrow hair outside of the new shape.

Please contact us if your question was not included or addressed in the information provided. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have.

LASH LIFT

What is a Lash Lift?

A Lash Lift is a semi-permanent treatment that lifts your natural lashes to create beautifully curled lashes without having to use an eyelash curler before mascara. It is a revolutionised procedure from the old, inadequate perming techniques, we use silicone pads instead of perm rods. It is a great alternative to eyelash extensions, as it requires very little maintenance.

This is a great alternative to eyelash extensions!

What the difference between eyelash extension and a Lash Lift?

Eyelash extensions require a single or multiple synthetic lash/es to bond to each individual natural lash to create more length and fullness and require maintenance every 2-3 weeks. Whereas a lash lift is just curling your own natural lashes with less maintenance

Who suitable for a Lash Lift?

Your natural lashes should have adequate length.

Straight and/or downward pointing lashes

Low maintenance compared to eyelash extensions as time poor for regular upkeep

Love to still wear mascara

Who NOT suitable for a Lash Lift?

  • Short and sparse lashes as the effect really isn’t noticeable at all.

  • If you can’t lay still or claustrophobic and can’t keep your eyes closed for up to 60 min then this treatment is not suitable

  • Trichotillomania or simple terms if you have a habit of pulling out of lashes and/or brows.

  • Can’t help constantly rubbing your lashes or sleeping face down into your pillow

  • Chronic dry eye

  • Not recommended for radiotherapy/chemotherapy clients (should wait at least a year from your last treatment).

  • Recently had blepharoplasty surgery - Most will experience an increased sensitivity in the eye area for quite a while. You need to give yourself that time to heal first. After that, you can consult with your physician to be sure. Recommended to wait at least a year.

  • Recently had lasik surgery - You will need to wait for at least 6 months before you can have a lash lift. But always consult with your treating doctor before going ahead with the treatment.

There may be other conditions/treatments/medications that you’re on/have that can affect the lift but may be discussed with your health care professional.

What are co:

A sign that someone should not continue with a particular medicine or treatment because it is or might be harmful.

It is impossible to list every potential risk/complication, but below are some of the more common ones recognised for a lash lift and must be disclosed prior to any treatment:

  • Eye Infections/disorders

  • Recent Eye Surgery within 6 months (always consult your doctor before going ahead with any treatment that can affect you)

  • Allergy to product

  • Very sensitive eyes

  • Hay fever sufferers/Watery Eyes

  • Conjunctivitis

  • Stye

  • Dry Eye Syndrome

  • Medication – Thyroxin (in some cases can prevent lashes from curling)

  • Contact Lenses – must always be removed

  • Using prescribed medicated eye drops

  • Pregnancy – during the 1st trimester

Preparation before treatment

Must have no eye makeup on upon arrival. Please be aware that using waterproof makeup can affect the lash lift. So do not wear these formulas at least 2 days beforehand.

Arrive to your appointment on time. Or if you need to take the makeup off just before your appointment as your coming straight from another errand you should arrive at least 5 - 10 min beforehand.

If you wear contacts, it must be removed for the treatment. So please bring a spare or glasses with you.

How long is a lash lift procedure?

Approximately 45 - 60 minutes.

How long will it last?

As there is very little aftercare it can last for up to 6-8 weeks, depending on your lash cycle.

Note: Lash serums, biotin, and/or medication(s) can affect the lash cycle, resulting in quicker lash shedding and/or growth.

Does a lash lift procedure hurt?

Absolutely not, It should be a relaxing and painless experience.

Your eyes will be closed for the entire treatment. We may ask you to turn your head from side to side to wash the eye area and a bit of pressure when applying/removing the silicone rod but it’s really nothing at all.

Will it damage my natural lashes?

The solutions are only applied from the base of the lash to just over half way, but never all the way to the tips

Can mascara be applied after procedure?

Please wait for 24 hours before applying any type of product to your lashes except the Elleeplex Advanced Formula. After 24 hours, you may apply your usual makeup.

Can I still use a lash curler after a lash lift?

The whole point of a lash lift is to remove the need for a eyelash curler and it gives a better curl result. But more importantly, if you do try to use an eyelash curler you run the risk of weakening and damaging your natural lashes.

BROW LAMINATION

WHAT IS A BROW LAMINATION

Eyebrow lamination is the latest beauty secret that will thicken and enhance your natural brows. Similar to the idea of a lash lift, brow lamination involves the application of a setting lotion that gives the brow hair a semi-permanent “brushed up” and lifted look. Whether you have thin, thick, or over plucked eyebrows, brow laminating is the perfect solution to give you the everyday look you want, without effort.

WHY CAN’T I GET MY BROWS WET AFTER A LAMINATION?

Similar to a lash lift, keeping your brows dry in the 24 hours following your lamination treatment is very important. During the lamination process, we use an assortment of creams as well as a permanent gel to relax and shape your brows. If you get your eyebrows wet too soon after we finish applying these products, your brows do not have a chance to set with their new shape.

HOW LONG DOES A BROW LAMINATION LAST?

A brow lamination will last about 6 weeks (again, depending on aftercare). Be sure to follow the “Don’ts” mentioned above in the first 24 hours following your treatment for longevity. In the 48 hours following your treatment, you can apply a hydrating balm or a castor oil to your brows daily. We also recommend brushing your brows in an upright/styled position anytime following a shower (or after getting your brows wet) to help keep their new shape.
